Terms of Use
Last updated: October 14, 2026
Courtesy translation. These Terms are governed by Brazilian law. The Portuguese version is the official one and prevails in case of any conflict or discrepancy.
These Terms explain the rules for using Buppet, the social network that connects pet owners and pet businesses. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to what is written here — if you disagree, do not use the service.
1. Who we are
Buppet is a digital platform that connects pet owners and businesses in the pet market (pet shops, veterinary clinics, boarding, daycare, bathing and grooming, independent professionals and adoption organizations). The service is accessed through the website buppet.online and through the app installed from it.
Questions, complaints or requests about these Terms can be sent to equipbuppet@gmail.com.
2. Sign-up and account
- To use the social features you must create an account with truthful, complete and up-to-date information. False information may lead to account suspension.
- You must be 18 years or older to create an account. People under 18 may use the platform only with the authorization and supervision of a legal guardian.
- Your password is personal and non-transferable. You are responsible for keeping it confidential and for everything that happens on your account while it is accessible.
- Each individual must keep one pet owner account; each business must keep one business account linked to its Brazilian company registration (CNPJ) or to the CPF of the responsible professional.
- If you notice unauthorized use of your account, change your password and tell our team through the contact email.
3. Pet owner and business profiles
Pet owners are responsible for the information in their profile, for their pets' data (name, breed, age, weight, photos) and for having permission to publish photos and videos that involve other people or animals.
Businesses are responsible for the accuracy of registration data, services offered, prices, opening hours, promotions and coupons they publish, as well as for complying with the health and consumer rules that apply to their activity. The verification badge (“Verified”) only means that the documents submitted were checked; it is not an endorsement, guarantee or recommendation by Buppet.
Buppet does not provide veterinary services and does not intermediate the hiring between pet owner and business: negotiations, bookings, payments and appointments are arranged directly between the parties.
4. Content you publish
- The content you publish (texts, photos, videos, comments, messages, pet data) remains yours.
- By publishing, you grant Buppet a free, non-exclusive license limited to operating the platform, to store, display, resize and share that content inside the app and in generated previews (for example, share images on other networks). This license ends when you delete the content or the account, except for backup copies and records the law requires us to keep.
- You state that you hold the rights to the content you publish and that it does not violate third-party rights or Brazilian law. This also applies to soundtracks: only use music you have the right to publish — Buppet does not license audio and may remove the post if the rights holder complains.
- Video posts may expire depending on the account plan, and the file may be removed automatically when it expires (pet owners and businesses: 30 days).
5. What is not allowed
- Publishing illegal, offensive, discriminatory, harassing or threatening content, or content that promotes violence or animal exploitation.
- Sharing animal abuse, cruelty, dogfighting or irregular animal sales.
- Publishing third-party personal data without permission (doxxing) or sexual content involving minors.
- Using the platform for scams, pyramid schemes, misleading advertising, spam, chain messages or sales of illegal products.
- Creating fake profiles, impersonating another person, a business or the Buppet team.
- Copying, scraping, automating access, trying to bypass technical limits, breaking into restricted areas or overloading the infrastructure.
- Reselling, sublicensing or commercially exploiting the platform without written authorization.
Breaking these rules may result in content removal, a warning, suspension or account termination, without prejudice to the legal measures available.
6. Moderation, reports and blocking
Anyone can report posts and conversations from inside the app. The Buppet team reviews reports and may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these Terms, the law or third-party rights. You can also block profiles and limit who interacts with you.
After review, the person responsible for the content may be notified and may challenge the decision by replying to the contact email. Cases involving risk to life or to animals may be forwarded to the competent authorities.
7. Paid plans, coupons and donations
- Business features (such as feed highlighting and video posts) may require a paid plan. Prices and what each plan includes are shown on the subscription screen before you subscribe.
- Card payments are processed by Stripe; PIX payments are generated by the same partner. Buppet does not store your full card details.
- Subscriptions are recurring and renew automatically until cancelled, which you can do at any time on the subscription screen. Access remains until the end of the period already paid for.
- You may withdraw within 7 calendar days (art. 49 of the Brazilian Consumer Code), requesting a refund through the contact email. After that, amounts already used in the period are not refunded, except in case of service failure.
- Coupons and promotions are created by the businesses themselves; Buppet does not guarantee availability and may suspend irregular campaigns.
- Donations shown inside the app (for example, in adoption listings) are handled by the institutions responsible for them — Buppet does not receive or move these amounts.
8. Buppet brand, software and content
The Buppet name, visual identity, own texts, layout, icons and platform code belong to Buppet or to those who licensed their use, and may not be used without authorization. Logos, names and photos uploaded by businesses remain theirs.
9. Availability and limitation of liability
- We aim to keep the service available and secure, but it may be temporarily offline for maintenance, updates or failures of third parties and of the internet.
- We are not responsible for content published by users or businesses, for services contracted between them, nor for losses arising from those relationships.
- We are not responsible for losses caused by misuse of your password or by access resulting from a security failure on your own device.
- Where the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you actually paid in the 12 months before the event.
10. Account closure and deletion
You can delete your account at any time in the privacy area of your profile. Deletion removes the profile, the posts and the associated data, respecting what the Privacy Policy says about retention and backups. We may also close accounts that violate these Terms, with prior notice when possible.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect new features, changes in the law or adjustments to the service. The last updated date appears at the top of the page and, when the change is relevant, we notify you inside the app. Continuing to use Buppet after the update means you agree to the current version.
12. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by Brazilian law, including the Internet Civil Rights Framework (Law 12,965/2014), the Consumer Protection Code (Law 8,078/1990) and the General Data Protection Law (Law 13,709/2018). The courts of the consumer's domicile are elected to resolve any disputes.
